“Collectible, Spalding "Model GX" Antique Tennis Racquet. It is marked with “Spalding Model GX” gold decal in good condition with chipped S and the gold “A. G. Spalding Bros” trademark logo in excellent condition on the throat. Beautiful laminated convex wedge. It is marked “13 1/2” on the shaft. The strings are red with patented double-strung main strings in place; however, three cross strings are broken. The white shoulder wrappings are intact. It has an excellent finish with a light amber patina. The frame is straight in excellent antique condition with some minor scuffs and nicks. The original dark leather butt collar is in place. The handle is in very good condition with minor scuffs, and scratches. The head has a nice oval shape with an angled profile. Please see all photos.”
