“A RARE SIZE 4" MEDIUM WIDTH UNNAMED J W YOUNG TRADE PATTERN 1 LIGHT SALMON REEL WITH RED AGATE LINE GUARD. ALTHOUGH UNNAMED THIS REEL IS A J W YOUNG PATTERN 1 MADE FOR THE TRADE. IT REALLY IS A RARE SIZE AND TO FIND IT WITH A RED AGATE IS A TRUE BONUS, IDEAL FOR GRILSE OR LIGHT SALMON FISHING. THE AGATE IS A LOVELY RED COLOUR WITH NO CRACKS, REEL WINDS WELL WITH NO SPINDLE WEAR, THE REEL HAS A CRISP CHECK AND ALSO RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL SPLIT WASHER ON THE END OF THE SPINDLE UNDER THE RETAINING SCREW, THIS STOPS VERTICAL PLAY. THE REEL RETAINS MUCH OF ITS ORIGINAL LEAD COLOUR WITH SOME MARKING AND SCRATCHING TO THE OUTER LAQUER. OVERALL A RARE SIZE REEL IDEAL TO FISH OR COLLECT.
