“As you’d expect of used/unpolished brass ware, Verdi Gris, tarnishing. These are taken straight out as is, there may be traces of hair/soap in the wastes. They should not be hard to restore if you wish to, spray with limescale remover to take off the darkening to Matt brass and polish by hand with metal polish, these were polish finish when installed so smooth, there aren’t major marks or digs. Some have original lead washers, the bath waste is modern as you can see from overflow but looks the part (try finding an original!)”
